Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support This is our school wide system of strategies that define, teach, and support appropriate student behaviors both in the classroom and non-classroom settings. This proactive approach helps to set clear expectations for student behavior and thus creates a positive school environment for everyone.
Titan Trophies will be handed out to students being caught following our three school wide rules: BE SAFE, BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE. Fourth grade will meet as a grade level weekly and one Titan trophy winner will be drawn and recognized. Each homeroom winner will then go into a drawing to be recognized school wide.
Think Sheets In the event a student struggles to follow school expectations, he or she will be given a Think Sheet. This sheet will be completed by the student and discussed with the staff member who witnessed the behavior. Homeroom teachers will keep these sheets throughout the school year. When necessary, Mrs. Morrison will complete a reteaching lesson with students and parents will be contacted.

Due dates are given when assignments are given. If the assignment is not completed by that due date, students will be given a bright pink “late assignment” ticket. Students will complete the information on the ticket, be required to get a parent signature and return this ticket with the completed assignment to me. If late assignments become repetitive, we will have a meeting to discuss a plan for completing homework in a timely manner.
AR tests Monthly. In order to hold students accountable for reading chapter books appropriate to their independent reading level, students are expected to complete a minimum of one AR test per month. Assuming they are reading nightly for 15 minutes and using their time wisely during DEAR (in Reading class), completing one AR test monthly is actually a very weak expectation. In order to be accepted, an AR test score must be a 70% or higher. Books must also be within the independent reading level of each student (based on MAP testing scores) or a minimum level of 4.0 first semester and 4.5 second semester.
